At first, you may think, hey guaranteed SEO rankings seem like a pretty good deal. Let me do some Google research and see what this is all about.
That is when you are hit with all these articles telling you just how bad of an idea it is to hire anybody who guarantees SEO rankings. After all, Google explicitly says that “No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google”.
However, you have to dig a little bit deeper into what these guaranteed SEO companies are truly offering and the pricing model behind them.
What Are Guaranteed SEO Companies Really Offering?
Most SEO companies that offer guaranteed SEO ranking services are offering a “you only pay if you rank” type of service.
This means that after keywords are chosen, the SEO company will begin tracking these keywords and implementing their services to get your keywords to rank on the first or second page of Google and other major search engines.
Depending on where you rank for your chosen keywords, a calculation will be made and you will then be charged for each keyword’s ranking position. Therefore, you only pay if you rank.
Sounds good right?
Wrong!
What’s Wrong With Only Paying If You Rank?
The problem with only paying if you rank is that rankings don’t always translate into website visitors or conversions.
So if you end up ranking #1 on Google for a search term that has very little search volume, chances are likely you’re not going to get very many visitors. However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to rank for keywords with low search volume because these keywords may be very specific and have a high conversion rate. It just means you need to find the right keyword!

What happens you get a #1 ranking for a keyword that has a high bounce rate is you will start to lose your position because Google will recognize that they are not delivering the most relevant results.
