Online Advertising — Elk River, MN

Leads this week, not someday.

SEO compounds over time. Advertising brings in leads now. I build and manage campaigns on Google and social platforms around one number: what each lead costs you.

Sound familiar?

Money in, mystery out

You’re spending on ads every month and can’t say how many calls or customers it produced.

Clicks that don’t call

Lots of traffic from ads, very few leads, and the clicks land on your homepage.

Set it and forget it

Campaigns were set up once and never touched again, still bidding on searches that waste money.

All fixable. Here’s how.

What’s included

The playbook

How I approach Online Advertising

No secrets and no black boxes. Here’s exactly how I do the work, and why each step matters.

01Tracking comes before ads

The most common problem I see in ad accounts isn’t bad ads. It’s no tracking. If you can’t see which campaigns produce calls and forms, you can’t tell good spend from wasted spend.

Before scaling anything, I set up conversion tracking for calls, forms and bookings in Google Ads and GA4, so every decision after that is based on leads, not clicks.

02Google Search: be there when they’re ready to buy

Search ads put you at the top of Google for the exact moment someone needs you. The skill is in control: targeting high-intent searches, excluding the junk (job seekers, DIYers, people in the wrong city), and writing ads that pre-qualify clicks.

I build tightly themed campaigns, cut wasted searches every week, and adjust bids by location, time of day and device based on what actually produces leads.

03Local Services Ads: pay for leads, not clicks

For eligible service businesses, Local Services Ads appear at the very top of Google with a Google Guaranteed or Google Screened badge, and you pay per lead instead of per click. For many home service businesses they’re the most cost-effective lead source available.

I handle setup and verification, keep your profile and budget optimized, and dispute leads that don’t qualify so you aren’t paying for them.

04Facebook & Instagram: create demand and stay top of mind

Social ads work differently: you’re reaching people before they search. They shine for seasonal offers, new services, events and retargeting people who already visited your site.

Creative matters most here, so I focus on simple, honest messaging, real photos and offers that give people a reason to act now.

05Landing pages that turn clicks into calls

Sending ad traffic to your homepage wastes money. Each campaign gets a focused landing page that matches the ad, answers the obvious questions, shows proof, and makes calling or booking effortless, especially on a phone.

06Ads and SEO, working together

Ad data shows which keywords actually turn into customers, often within weeks. That tells your SEO strategy exactly which rankings are worth fighting for. As organic rankings grow, ad spend can shift to what SEO can’t reach yet, bringing your total cost per lead down over time.

FAQ

Online Advertising questions, answered

Don’t see yours? Call (763) 957-0858 and ask me directly.

How much should I spend on ads?

It depends on your market and goals. I’ll recommend a starting budget based on what clicks and leads cost in your industry and area, and we scale what works.

Do you mark up ad spend?

No. Your ad budget is paid directly to Google or Meta from your own account. You own the account and the data.

How fast will I see leads?

Search and Local Services Ads can produce leads within days of launch. It typically takes 4–8 weeks of data to optimize campaigns toward the best cost per lead.

Should I do ads or SEO?

Often both: ads for leads now and to test which keywords convert, and SEO to bring your cost per lead down over time.

Is my business eligible for Local Services Ads?

Many home services (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, cleaning, landscaping and more) and some professional services qualify. I can check eligibility for your category and area.

Can you take over my existing ad account?

Yes. I start with an audit of what’s working and what’s wasting money, then restructure from there. No need to start from scratch.
