How I approach Website Design
No secrets and no black boxes. Here’s exactly how I do the work, and why each step matters.
01Strategy before pixels
A website’s structure should come from how your customers search, not from a template. I start with keyword and competitor research and turn it into a sitemap: one strong page for each core service and each key area you serve, plus the pages that build trust.
That way the site is designed to rank from day one, instead of needing an SEO rescue six months after launch.
02Built for speed, without the bloat
Many small business sites are built with drag-and-drop page builders that load huge amounts of code on every page. They look fine on a fast laptop and crawl on a phone over cellular data.
I build custom, lightweight WordPress themes: clean code, optimized images, minimal plugins and smart caching. Fast sites rank better, convert better, and are easier to maintain. This website is built exactly this way.

I inventory every existing URL, map each one to its new home with permanent 301 redirects, carry over your best content and metadata, and monitor Search Console after launch to catch anything unexpected.

How long does a new website take?
Most small business sites take 4–8 weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on the number of pages and how quickly content comes together.
Will a redesign hurt my Google rankings?
Not if it’s done right. I map every old URL to its new home with 301 redirects and keep your best-performing content.
Do you build on WordPress?
Yes. Custom WordPress themes with no heavy page builders, so the site stays fast and you can still edit it yourself.
Do you write the content?
I can. Many clients prefer that I write SEO-focused copy based on an interview with them. You can also supply your own and I’ll optimize it.
Who owns the website when it’s done?
You do: the domain, hosting, content and code. Nothing is locked into a proprietary platform.
Can you just fix my current site instead?
Often, yes. If speed, structure or conversions are the problem, targeted fixes can be more cost-effective than a full rebuild. I’ll tell you honestly which makes sense.
